For Coinbase’s “New Day One” keynote and the launch of their new product Base, we developed the full brand package and designed all visuals for both the virtual and live experiences. Using a cohesive suite of animated media, we seamlessly integrated keynote content to create a dynamic, visually powerful experience that connected every speaker and moment. The event received widespread praise, with CEO Brian Armstrong calling it the new standard for Coinbase events.

Strategy
Based on the Base app’s brand identity of minimal forms, vivid colors, modular grids, and pixel-driven textures, we explored and developed ASCII animations. By focusing on details, patterns, and variations, the brand was translated into an abstract visual language. This approach allowed it to function as an ambient layer throughout the event, enhancing the audience’s overall experience while keeping the brand present in a subtle, immersive way.
Application
The project required translating the Base app’s brand identity into a large-scale live event with a central main screen and two side screens. Since the event was simultaneously broadcast online, we also created broadcast-specific elements using the same pixel-driven approach to maintain a consistent and immersive brand experience across both in-person and virtual audiences.
